School Story:

It meant a great deal to me that at one of the reunions our class honored Jerry Stock for being the first to RSVP to the reunion. That gesture showed a "coming of age" and and inclusiveness that made me very proud to be a member of the Class of 66.

Comments:

I had the privilege of graduating from nursing school and spent most of my nursing career working in Neonatal Intensive Care Units. For about 13 months I live in Ethiopia and actually experienced "how the other half lives". It was an invaluable opportunity to use every bit on knowledge and ingenuity I had to meet some of the overwhelming needs. Back in the States I continued my nursing career and worked my way through Temple University. After getting snowed in at a hospital in Philadelphia for 3 days, I said, "no more snow and ice for me" and moved to Florida. Eventually, finished grad school and became a nurse practitioner. Returned to Kenya for a 6-month stint "in the 'burbs", and now teach nursing and other clinical courses in a small community hospital in Boynton Beach, FL.

Important People:

Lesley Wright and Martie Schreiner were my two closest childhood friends. Lesley died several years ago, but Martie and I have become reacquainted for which I am very grateful. We have reminisced about growing up in Mt. Lebanon many times. I was anxious to get away from Pittsburgh after high school, but now am grateful for the opportunities I had growing up in Mt. Lebanon.

Networking Media

I occasionally look at Facebook but prefer to correspond on email.

What else are you doing with your time? What is your passion?

I am still working full time, and enjoy being able to be active through out the year in Florida. My passion is caring for babies born prematurely or chidlren with disabilities, and I try to pariticipate in the March of Dimes walks.

Surprises!

I wasn't sure I would ever get my life together after I graduated from Mt. Lebanon, but I have enjoyed it and the many challenges and opportunities that have come my way!

Susan,
Thank you for your diligence in maintaining our class website. It is an invaluable means of staying connected to some of our roots. As time moves on, we see the distances grow from our days in Mt. Lebanon and we realize the connections are loosening. However, this website reminds us of our beginnings and our growth. Thank you for keeping the connections updated! Happy New Year! Joy! Lois

Lois J. Wilson has left an In Memory comment for Terri D. Otis Zucco.

I did not know Terri well, although we both went to the same junior high and then through high school.  However, I think it was in Mr. Whipkey's math class that she sat near me, and I remember her infectious giggle/laugh. Somehow, there always seemed to be something that she saw funny even in a rather dull class. I often wondered how she could find anything funny in algebra.
