Elizabeth Carey Blank 1948 - 2014
66, of Shelbyville, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 23, 2014 with her family by her side.
She was a graduate of the University of Louisville and was an English Teacher at Presentation Academy. She loved music, the arts, and literature - was a voracious reader. She danced as a child and adult at Courtney's Dance School. She never saw a horse she didn't love. She showed Saddlebred horses through college. She retired to a 20 acre horse farm in Shelby County. She was an extremely compassionate and caring person.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Dillinger.
Elizabeth is survived by her loving husband, Lester Blank; mother, Margaret "Peggy" Dillinger; a son, Robert Silverthorn, III; a daughter, Christine Elizabeth Silverthorn; grandchildren, Madeleine, Nicholas, Lucius, and Jack; siblings, Peggy Kohlhepp (Bill), Janet Burt (Tom Rowe), William Dillinger (Glenna), Melissa Dillinger (Bill Burton), and Mary Dillinger.
Her Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road "in St. Matthews" with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
