Thanks, Pete Fulton, for letting everyone know about Rick's passing.
Pete, Rick and I were 3/4 of the greatest infield in Mt. Lebo Little League history! Someone may claim that another infield had better stats. Others may claim that some infield combo was slicker, or hit better or whatever. Pete, Rick and I know better. Sadly, we are now short a shortstop and to take Rick Malkus' place, you had best be at the very top of your game. Also, if you read this and happen to remember who the 4th guy was, please let us know.
On a serious note, I spoke to Rick as we were locating classmates prior to the 50th reunion. He was glad to hear from me, but was not much interested in big reunion events. It had been my intention to keep in closer touch with him, but I didn't follow through. Now it's too late. May God bless you, my old friend, and may He comfort those who loved you best and who miss you most.

As we were leading up to the 50th anniversary, I was hoping Rick might come. Since I had to leave Mt. Lebanon in the middle of our senior year, I never had the opportunity for goodbyes and the forever hopes we would all stay in touch. I just lost touch with sooooo many people. BUT, I do remember that Rick was a "boyfriend" in junior high school! AND I do remember I even had some little ring around my neck... oh heavens, remember those days! Not sure how many months or weeks my "going steady" was steady.. ha!! but he remained a memory, regardless, and was hoping he might be there... I do hope his family is doing ok.....
