It is with great regret that I have to inform everyone that on the 19th of May, 2013 Dick Messersmith passed away after a long battle with, what I've been told, liver disease. He was a good friend to me and others, and my thoughts and prayers are with his family, and I will his him greatly.

Age 64, of Pittsburgh, died on Sunday, May 19, 2013. Born in Dubuque, Iowa. Beloved Son of the late Harry and Helen (McQuiston) Messersmith; Loving Brother of JoAnne (Tom) Sherman; Dear Uncle of Barbara (John) Hubbuch and Mike (Christie) Sherman; Great-Uncle of Trey, Will, and Ellie Hubbuch and Caroline, Clint, Cole, and Cam Sherman, all of Louisville, Kentucky. Dick was an avid sports fan of the Pittsburgh Pro Teams. The family would like to express their appreciation to the kind and caring staff of Manor Care and Heartland Hospice Care. No public visitation. Services and inurnment will be private in Calvary Cemetery, Louisville, KY.
